- Overview of animal feed:
Animal feeds are feed products that livestock (terrestrial and aquatic animals) are fed, drank, or added to the environment for aquatic animals to maintain growth, development, and production. Animal feed can be in the form of fresh, pre-processed, processed and preserved food, nutritional food, or functional food
- Purpose of testing animal feed – aqua feed:
The livestock industry is a key economic sector of Vietnam. The control of animal feed should be strict, and meet the quality conditions before feeding the animals. At the same time, the testing of animal feed also contributes to promoting the development of the domestic livestock industry and increasing the quality of livestock products exported to foreign countries.
- Current regulations on animal feed testing:
- QCVN 01-183:2016/BNNPTNT: Regulations on maximum allowable limits for the content of mycotoxins, heavy metals, and microorganisms in mixed feeds for livestock and poultry.
- QCVN 01 – 190: 2020/BNNPTNT: National technical regulation on animal feed – hygiene and safety criteria and maximum allowable limits in animal feed.
- QCVN 01-39:2011/BNNPTNT: National technical regulation on water hygiene for animal husbandry.
- Circular No. 21/2019/TT-BNNPTNT: quality criteria for animal feed must be announced in the applicable published standards.
